Motto - Giving the people of Africa a hand up - not a hand out

Africa Equip is a charity that was started in 1999 by three people who shared a passion for helping the people of Africa. With the above motto driving the group forward, Africa Equip was born.

Objectives

The primary objectives are to work with projects that involve children and those helping them, and also job creation projects. Although we are Christian we do not discriminate between projects that we support, as long they fulfil the above criteria.

Projects

We have in the past sent tools, sewing machines, computers, welders, generators and disabled equipment including wheel chairs, hearing aids, crutches etc. We are in the process of trying to set up a child sponsorship scheme to enable a number of children to go to school each year. Listed on the website are some of the projects that we are currently involved with. The projects are more real to us since visiting them in Oct 2004, and it was great to see how the little we had done, had made such a difference in the lives of the local community.

Africa Equip operates out of Small Heath Baptist Church, Birmingham UK with full support of the membership and Pastor.
